Our editorial process
Accuracy and changing information
We take reasonable care when researching, preparing and reviewing our articles. Our aim is to provide clear, useful information that helps you understand and compare health insurance.
However, editorial review does not eliminate every error or omission. Information may also change after an article is published or reviewed.
Our articles are not a real-time record of every policy or offer. Insurers may change their premiums, benefits, eligibility requirements, provider arrangements and promotional offers. Information supplied by third parties may also be delayed or incomplete.
A reference to a price, benefit, discount or promotion should not be taken as confirmation that it remains available or applies to your circumstances. Offers are subject to the relevant insurer’s eligibility criteria, conditions and expiry dates.
Check with the insurer before making a decision
Before joining, switching or cancelling cover, visit the insurer’s official website and confirm the details that matter to you directly with the insurer.
Read the current Private Health Information Statement and the insurer’s full policy and offer documents. In particular, check the premium payable, inclusions and exclusions, waiting periods, benefit limits, out-of-pocket costs and any conditions attached to an advertised promotion.
Our articles and summaries are intended to support your research, not replace those documents or advice tailored to your circumstances. If you notice a difference between our content and information provided by an insurer, seek clarification before proceeding.
An editorial summary does not establish or change your insurance cover. Your cover depends on the policy you agree with the insurer, subject to your rights under applicable law.
Updates, errors and corrections
When we identify a relevant change or a possible error, we review the affected content. We prioritise issues that could materially affect a reader’s understanding or insurance decision.
To report inaccurate, outdated or unclear information, email info@healthinsurance.au. Please include the article link, the information you believe needs attention and, where available, a supporting source.
We assess correction requests against the relevant information. Where an error is confirmed, we correct, clarify or remove the affected content as soon as reasonably practicable. Where appropriate, we may temporarily remove information while it is being checked.
Reader feedback supports our editorial checks; it does not replace them.
Terms of Use and your rights
Please read this editorial process together with our Terms of Use, which explain the scope of our services, the use of third-party information and our responsibilities.
Nothing in this editorial process, including our request that you verify information with an insurer, takes away any consumer right or remedy that Australian law does not allow us to exclude or limit. It does not remove our obligation to comply with applicable law.
